MY SERVICES
SCHOOL
PLACEMENT
I help families navigate school options and the admission process.
What are my school options, and what’s best for my child?
It’s one thing to go online and search schools in my area, it’s another thing to have a specialist in your corner. Someone who knows the educational landscape, and through understanding your child and family, can provide customized options that resonate.
Children spend the majority of their day in school, and the stakes can feel exceptionally high as we navigate the options. Families often struggle to prioritize what matters most, what events to attend, what to share in writing and interviews, and how to prepare their child for an assessment and/or applicant visit day.
Our work together includes guidance with:
Exploring and evaluating potential school and program options
Authentically sharing about your family and child in the application
Preparing for interviews that truly reflect your values, family, and child
Understanding school playdates, assessments, and visit days
Engaging with less stress, more flow, and an appreciation for the process

TRANSITION COUNSELING
I help families identify what will most benefit their children next in their education.
Something isn’t working in my child’s educational journey.
Sometimes it’s a passing thought or a gut feeling: You notice your child doesn’t want to go to school, or describes frequent difficulties with peer relations, or shares that focusing is hard. They may say their school work is becoming difficult, or doubt themselves, or report being bored day after day. As you witness the effects of these feelings, you find yourself thinking we have a problem and I’m not sure what to do.
This is an invitation to get curious about your child’s journey and receive informed and impartial feedback. I do this by understanding where you have been and who your child is.
Our work together includes:
Initial meeting
Family share via intake form and parent interview
Meetup session with your child (optional, but encouraged)
Feedback session, suggested next steps, and resource sharing
Feeling stuck? Something not working? Schedule a 15-minute intro call with Amy.
FAMILY LAW SUPPORT
I help family law attorneys support their clients in educational matters.
I offer family law professionals a valuable resource for clients in need of facts and information that they can present to a co-parent, a mediator, and the court on the issue of a child’s educational options. I serve as a didactic expert, offering expert information of general relevance to a child’s educational journey, criteria to apply in choosing a school, and a review of different types of pedagogy. My experience and background in education allows me to review reports and offer input on content, strategy, and approach. I can also serve as a testifying expert on issues related to school placement and support.
My services include:
Expertise on various school pedagogies and criteria to navigate school choices during a divorce
Didactic expert to present educational information relevant to a child's journey to co-parents, mediators, or the Court
Consulting expertise with interpreting and analyzing reports (IEPs, neuropsychological reports, etc.)
Testifying as an expert on school placement and academic support issues
